Steps to Reset Phone

This reverts the device back to factory settings.  It will permanently erase all personal data, preferences, settings and content such as pictures, ringtones and apps that are saved to the device. It is recommended that you save (backup) important data before proceeding.

 

  1. From the home screen, press the Menu key, and then tap Settings.
  2. Scroll to and tap Privacy.
  3. Scroll to and tap Factory data reset.
  4. Tap Reset phone to continue. Tap to check Format USB storage to remove all saved media and applications from an inserted MicroSD memory card.
  5. If security is enabled, enter your unlock PIN, password, or pattern. 
  6. Tap Erase everything.

 

Alternate way to Reset Phone

This reverts the device back to factory settings.  It will permanently erase all personal data, preferences, settings and content such as pictures, ringtones and apps that are saved to the device. It is recommended that you save (backup) important data before proceeding.

 

  1. Power off your phone. If unable to power off, remove and reinsert the battery.
  2. Press and hold between both Volume keys and the Power key at the same time until the phone vibrates, then release ONLY the Power key.
  3. Continue holding the Volume keys until Samsung appears on the screen.  Then release both volume keys.
  4. The recovery menu will display.
  5. Press Volume down to move to option 3, Wipe data/factory reset, and then press the Home key to accept.
  6. Use Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to navigate in the menu and select Yes- Delete all user data.
  7. Navigate to highlight OK and press the Home key to select.
  8. Select Reboot system now.

 

Warning!: While reset/restore operation under process, you are advised not to remove your battery until the operation is completed and cellphone restarts otherwise phone damage may occur.
